News snippets

One theory is that “news” was developed as a special use of the plural form of “new” in the 14th century. In Middle English, the equivalent word was “newes”, based on the French nouvelles. A somewhat similar development is found in at least three Slavic languages (Czech, Slovak and Polish), where there exists a word noviny (“news”), developed from the word nový (“new”). Another theory is that the word, phonetically and its written style, is based upon the Germanic word “neues”. A folk etymology suggests that it is an acronym of the cardinal directions: north, east, west, and south.

My day starts with the news on the TV set. But the charm of reading a newes in print never seems to fade. I still love to check the same news in print. Usually it is a stale news that I might have read online, but I still do.

This blog is a personal blog written and edited by me. The blog is primarily a collection of newes articles posted across the online media and only the ones which I find interesting are posted. However, in this process, I am bound to miss out on some. If you would like to contribute to the articles to be posted, please feel free to contact me with the article details. I would try to add to the published posts.

Now for the moment, this blog does not accept any form of advertising, sponsorship, or paid insertions. I write/post for my own purposes. However, I may be influenced by my background, occupation, religion, political affiliation or experience. And if, WordPress does allow me to put up adv on the blog in the near future, I might be tempted to use the option  😉

In the last few months have not been able to update/add to the archive. Multiple reasons but primarily work and a lot of frustation.

If you check the news in the last 12 months, it has been a depressing time. All I was reading was how bad the economy is and how many are not able to retain the jobs. Just could not handle the news. But now there seems be some hope. It is a slow change but none the less a positive change. We are a long way from a complete recovery, yes, but we have reason to be hopeful.

There is a lot of news that I have missed out on adding. I need your help. If you have bookmarked articles of events for the last few months, send it to me so that I would be able to update the blog.
